It’s update time! Over the past six months, a lot has changed at Thorn Ridge. Some of those changes you’ll notice right away, like our new website. Other changes have affected the availability of our handcrafted products, which are currently marked “Temporarily Unavailable” on the site. We wanted to explain what’s been happening behind the scenes that has affected our manufacturing process, why you’re seeing this notification, and what our customers can expect in the future.
Product Availability
Since Thorn Ridge was founded, we’ve operated in both Florida and Tennessee. We handcrafted our products in Tennessee, then brought them to Florida, where they were shipped out to our customers. Following the sale of our Tennessee production facility in 2025, many of our handcrafted products have gradually sold out and quite a few of these products are temporarily unavailable, thus the reason for the notification. We are currently transitioning the production of our handcrafted products from Tennessee to Florida that meets the same quality standards you’ve come to expect from Thorn Ridge.
Florida’s cosmetic manufacturing requirements are very different from Tennessee’s and require significant changes to how we produce our products. While we have always followed all FDA requirements for cosmetic production, we now have to comply with Florida-specific manufacturing laws instead of Tennessee’s. During this transition, we’re working to meet Florida’s cosmetic manufacturing licensing requirements so we can continue producing the products you’ve come to know and trust. The process is much more involved than it was in Tennessee and requires significant changes to both our production process and facilities. If we’re unable to get a cosmetic manufacturer’s license ourselves, we may choose to partner with a company that does have a current cosmetic manufacturer’s license to make some of our products, particularly our Signature Scents Collection. If partnering with a licensed manufacturer allows us to continue offering these products while maintaining the quality you expect, it will be well worth it. You may also notice changes in our packaging, and we may introduce some products a little differently than we have in the past. It’s all part of the transition process.
Rather than removing our product lines from our website, we’ve chosen to leave them visible so our customers can continue to browse our complete catalog and see what’s planned to return. Products marked “Temporarily Unavailable” have not been discontinued. They’re simply unavailable while this transition is underway.
We still have some cosmetic products available for purchase, including our Bath Bombs and Roll-On Colognes. Additional products—including our Bath Salts, Bath Tea Soaks, Solid Cologne, Beard Oil, and other favorites—will return as production is reestablished under Florida’s manufacturing requirements. As each product becomes available again, you will be able to order through our website.
This does not affect our other product lines including Thorn Ridge Ranch®, American West, jewelry or items that are made to order like our custom t-shirts, blankets, and mugs. It’s only the cosmetics.
We’re taking this one step at a time, and we’ll continue bringing the cosmetic products back as production is reestablished. We appreciate your patience and look forward to making more of your favorites available again.
The Website
You may have also noticed that the website looks a little different. Thorn Ridge has moved to a different hosting platform that gives us complete control over our website, security, and customer experience, which is better suited to our needs. The website transition to the new platform is now complete but, as with any website migration, glitches may happen once the site goes live on the new servers, so if you happen to notice something that doesn’t look quite right or are having issues placing an order, we’d be grateful if you would let us know so we can fix it.
