Somewhere along a stream at Thorn Ridge lives a witch who decided two legs were overrated. Long ago, she left her human form behind and became a wide-eyed frog, trading the noise and commotion of the coven for a quiet place beside the water. Halloween is when she is most likely to be seen. Look closely along the bank and you may find her sitting there with her legs crossed, witch’s hat tipped at just the right angle, sending her magic across the water in ripples and speaking her spells in croaks.
She may be small, but the Frog Witch is neither helpless nor ordinary. Clever, patient, and more than a little pleased with herself, she has a habit of letting unexpected visitors glimpse just enough to question what they saw. Stay beside the stream beneath the strange teal and purple glow of the trees and her magic may find you, too. It can settle into the night so quietly that you don’t realize you’ve carried some of it away with you.
And Halloween isn’t the only time she appears. Thorn Ridge legends say the Frog Witch returns whenever the woods have something to say. She has been known to surface in the middle of storms, during moments of absolute stillness, and even inside dreams. She is proof of one of the Ridge’s oldest truths: magic was never meant to be tidy or predictable. It belongs to the wild, and sometimes the wild comes hopping straight toward you.
The Happy Halloween Black Mug captures her beside the glowing stream in a forest lit with teal and purple, a fitting companion for coffee, tea, cocoa, or whatever potion happens to be brewing. The dark mug gives the enchanted colors of the scene a dramatic backdrop while the Frog Witch keeps watch from her place along the water. This Thorn Ridge original Halloween mug is made for those who prefer their witches unusual, their legends a little mysterious, and their magic decidedly wild.
